| Job Purpose |
| Develop, manage, and maintain the Powertrain Solutions product portfolio across the product lifecycle. Define and deploy product roadmaps. Analyse the competitive landscape. Oversee and monitor market and technology trends to ensure that products meet market needs at defined product margins. Ensure Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of the Regulator (VOR) are captured as inputs for product strategies and new product development. Innovate to identify new opportunities and applications for existing products, and define additional products and solutions to meet new market needs. Define requirements for product development and support the New Product Development (NPD) process. Create and maintain product marketing materials, such as product presentations, data sheets, and product manuals. |
| Key Tasks |
| Create rolling 5-year product strategies and align with the Strategic Plan of the business. Provide comparison of product features and performance vs. competitor products. Manage the complexity of the product range (pruning of products, rationalisation of SKUs, complexity, etc.). Maintain a funnel of ideas for new products and suggest new product development initiatives to support the company’s profitable growth strategy. Develop comprehensive business cases for new product development. Identify product-related opportunities for profitable growth across different end markets. Educate the sales organisation to ensure a deep understanding of existing and future products, their uses, end applications and markets, and their competitive advantages. Support the commercial organisation in organising product-related customer events, such as tech days and trade shows. Report on progress towards key strategic product targets based on defined KPIs, such as sales revenue, margin, and market share. Act as guardian of product margins – oversee margins and initiate improvements needed by working with functional areas and senior management. Develop strategic product pricing together with Sales and Key Account Management. Manage the target costing approach jointly with Engineering, so that products provide the required features at a market-competitive cost to avoid over-engineering and achieve defined strategic margins for profitable growth. Support Manufacturing in the long-term assessment of manufacturing capacity to meet existing and future product needs. Support Supply Chain in the medium/long-term assessment of supply base capabilities to meet existing and future product needs. Identify, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with distributors, key suppliers, and other strategic partners. |

| Proven track record of successful product development and product marketing at a strategic level. Experience in an international, high-margin engineered products environment. Strong business acumen, with an understanding of the levers of product profitability. Transformation and change management experience to support a culture of profitable growth. Customer-focused and commercially experienced. Experienced in the development and implementation of cross-functional growth strategies. Situational leadership skills, modifying approach to achieve consensus that delivers desired solutions in a complex cross-functional environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to teach. Business report writing, interpretation, and presentation of KPI dashboards and metrics. Good team worker in a cross-functional environment. Experience in strategy development. | Professional Qualifications: |
| Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or an equivalent qualification. 5–10 years of experience in product management within engineered products businesses in an international business environment. Fluent in English; other languages are a benefit. |
