Under its rolling investment programme, Concentric Pumps Limited has increased manufacturing capacity at its UK plant with the commissioning of two new CNC turning machines for use in the production of diesel engine pump components.
The first machine is a Mori Seiki Hitech CS25 self-loading vertical CNC chucker dedicated to machining cast-iron water pump components. It will improve pulley capacity by approximately 3000 units a week. The second machine is a Mori Seki Hitech Hiturner horizontal CNC chucker, also machining cast-iron waterpump components. This machine will run in conjunction with a current facility and will raise capacity by some 1000 units a week. David Woolley, Managing Director of Concentric Pumps, commented: "This is the latest in an on-going series of investments at our Birmingham plant. It reflects the continuing growth in demand from our partners around the world, including Cummins, Komatsu and BMC in Turkey."
